LESSON 27 DIALOGUE
Lesson 27 – Garage Sale
David: Hi Jeff, Karen and I are having a garage sale on Saturday. We have accumulated so much stuff. Can you help us sort it out?
Jeff: Saturday, hmm. I think so. Polly wants me to drive her to Ikea at some point on Saturday. What time do you need me?
David: Well, if you have things to do, don’t worry about it.
Jeff: Oh no, I´m sure it’ll be fine. She only wants to buy some shelves for the office. It shouldn’t take long.
David: I have another idea. Why don’t you and Polly come over for drinks on Friday night? We can tackle the garage over a few beers.
Jeff: I like that idea. Okay! Polly has nearly finished the office and I want to get rid of all the old furniture and things. Would it be okay to bring a few items for the garage sale?
David: Of course it will be okay. There are a few people having a garage sale on this street so we’re expecting a good crowd. What sort of furniture is it?
Jeff: There’s a bedside cabinet, some lamps, a futon, an old desk and chair. Things like that.
David: I think Mr Samson at number 12 was looking for a desk and chair. He wants to build a little office for himself but he didn’t want to spend lots of money.
Jeff: Well the desk and chair are old but they are still in good condition. If he wants them he can have them for nothing.
David: Really! That’s very nice of you Jeff!
Jeff: Aw, they are just taking up space. To be honest I was going to take them to the tip but if someone wants them, that is better!
