Miguel Ángel: Sí, terminamos la pintura y colocamos la alfombra el martes.
María: ¡Perfecto! ¿Y el balcón?
Miguel Ángel: ¡Todavía tenemos trabajo hasta el jueves!
María: ¡Vale! ¿Y las escaleras de la entrada?
Miguel Ángel: El mosaico está terminado desde el miércoles. ¡Solo queda pintar los peldaños!
María: ¡Bien! ¿Y el baño?
Miguel Ángel: ¡Terminado desde el lunes!

En la última lección, presentamos el verbo “ser”. Este verbo se traduciría como “ser” en inglés, pero no se puede traducir como “ser” en todos los casos. El verbo “ser” se usa generalmente para referirse a cualidades permanentes de una persona o un objeto.
Podemos especificar el uso de ser con más detalle:

In Spanish we have the verb SER which means BE when we refer to permanent qualities.
(Remember in Spanish there are two verbs for “to be”. SER and ESTAR. SER is for permanent characteristics like Gender, I am a man. Estar is for non permanent states like I am tired.)

ENGLISH: Remember the conjugation of SER.
In the last lesson, we present the verb “to be”. This verb would be translated as “to be” in English, but can not be translated as “being” in all cases. The verb “to be” is generally used to refer to permanent qualities of a person or an object.
We can specify the use of being in more detail:
