TOEFL Exam
TOEFL is an international exam which is taken in order to measure your level of English at a university level. The exam lasts four hours and assesses how good is your ability in the four key skills: listening, reading, writing and speaking specifically regarding academic tasks. Why should I take the TOEFL? The TOEFL exam is particularly useful to demonstrate your proficiency in the English language. People take the TOEFL exams for a variety of reasons. Often students need to demonstrate a certain level of proficiency in a language, for example to study abroad, for a scholarship or for students and workers who are applying for visas. However, some people take the TOEFL exam simply as an assessment of their level of English.
TOEFL reading
The total time you will have for the TOEFL reading section will vary from 60 to 90 minutes. The texts in this section of the exam will all be university level academic texts, and will fall into one of three categories:

The TOEFL listening exam
The TOEFL listening exam lasts between 60 and 90 minutes and comprises of 9 questions. You will hear 4 or 6 lectures and then either 2 or 3 conversations.

Toefl writing section
The Writing section of the TOEFL exam lasts 50 minutes and consists of 2 tasks: integrated writing and independent writing.

The speaking part of the exam will last for 20 minutes and it will always take the same basic format. There are always 6 questions which will adhere to the same structure.
